Fic Post: The Black Asphodel, Part 1 of 5 Tried to post this Sunday but IJ was not cooperating! Title: The Black Asphodel Author: DementorDelta Pairing: Severus Snape/Harry Potter Rating: Adult Word Count: Approx 36,000 Summary: All of England is mesmerized by that daring hero, the Black Asphodel, who risks life and fortune to spirit French wizards out of Paris during the French Revolution. Notes: Beta read by the marvelous accioslash and by the equally marvelous whitecotton. Thank you ladies for tackling this for me! This work is based on The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy and is intended, in style and plot, as a gentle homage. Written for the extremely patient rory8 as part of the livelongnmarry fundraising project. Thanks so much for your support and your patience. Presented in its entirety in 5 parts. The State of Clank and Chains Visiting: Attended my very first Bar Mitzvah! A joyous Mazel Tov to cruisedirector's son, whom, I am reliably informed, is now a young man. With penguins. Social Networking: Facebook allows user names now! I've started one here, under, predictably enough, Dementor Delta. I still have one under my real name if you'd like to friend me there. Azkatraz: Just a little over a month away! The delightful alisanne, meri_oddities and I are giving a panel called The State of the Snarry Ship. Unfortunately it's scheduled for 9:30 Sunday morning, so I don't think many people will be showing up for it! So, if you're planning to attend, and you're awake at that ungodly hour, stop by and say hello! Art!: tessisamess committed art on my behalf! She did artwork for my story, The Living Years, with yummy young Snape and hot, hot Harry! | | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 | | 10:15 pm |

The Week in Delta-ness. Theater: Off tomorrow to see Grand Tour. Um, yes, it's in New York again, why? It's only a mumble mumblehours drive. Work: Has sucked less this week. I think I'm going to be able to adjust to my new schedule. I'm not crazy about it, but it has to be done. Thanks for your good wishes on my behalf! Hotness: Since I have not much else to report, have some Hot, Hot Disney Heroes. They always make me happy! | | Sunday, May 24th, 2009 | | 7:25 pm |
Sit Down, Delta! Theater: Because I can't seem to go a week without seeing something, I saw 1776 at the scenic Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. I love this show, even though I've never seen it staged till now! I wasn't crazy about John Adams but the rest of the cast more than made up for him! Hmm, well, I suppose he is obnoxious and disliked…. Visiting And because I also can't seem to go a week without seeing cruisedirector, I spent a fabulous day watching the final season of Slings and Arrows, the Paul Gross show. We were both weepy by the end but it was the best kind of weepy! Work: Has sucked ass this week. My key store manager is leaving, which means I'll have to take over her job so my lovely leisurely schedule is now gone. *whimper* I still have off for Azkaban but not much else…/ass sucking. Prithee: Capped off the week of much suckitude with a visit to Virginia Renaissance Festival. It's on the grounds of a working winery and they sell wines on site. Need I say more? | | Sunday, May 10th, 2009 | | 7:10 pm |
Clanking Along! Snarry-a-Thon: Reveals are up! I can now confess to this, The Man Who. Thanks to everyone who commented! First Fandoms: No, not Star Trek, Barbie! I'd been wanting to visit this museum anyway, the Geppie Entertainment Museum in Baltimore, and the Barbie exhibit, though small was delightful. I went with fellow Barbie collector cruisedirector and a friend who is still living in the 90's with no lj and no Twitter! She was very patient when Cruise and I Twittered our love for Batman's package right there in the museum… Local Excitement: I know Farmer's Markets are 'in' right now, but one just opened within walking distance of my house! Not very large, not yet, but wow, I hope they make it because the lure of fresh produce and baked goods and honey every weekend is just irresistible! Other Fannish News: The delightful rhea314 did a Podcast of one of my stories! *bounces with excitement* I've never had anyone do this for me and I'm thrilled beyond belief! Her post about it is here. She podded, er pod cast my story Parseltongue-tied and it's so cool! | | Thursday, May 7th, 2009 | | 9:06 pm |

More Clank and Chains Watching: Finished watching the first season of Slings and Arrows with cruisedirector and am eagerly looking forward to the rest of them! Theater: Went to a lovely local production of Midsummer Night's Dream--five actors, 20 characters and I don't think we stopped laughing during the entire second half! Also had a great time in New York for this concert in NYC, despite getting lost slightly turned around in Central Park. Wow, that's one big park you guys have there… Fannish News: Go Team Cauldron! This year cruisedirector and I are collaborating on our story for Snarry Games. Um, as soon as we figure out what that is! Also, thanks to everyone who's friended me over on Dreamwidth. I'm DementorDelta and I'm friending granting access and subscribing to everyone over there despite not being exactly sure what I'll be doing with the journal. Any more Snarry-A-Thon recs? After the first five stories no one seems to be reccing any more… Dorky Moments: This made me squee like the dorky, dorky Star Wars fan girl I used to be. I went to one of the Star Wars weekends at Disney Worlds back in the heyday of my fan love and these brought it all back. Good times! | | Friday, May 1st, 2009 | | 9:02 pm |
Want to Join the Fun? In case anyone in the world still needs a Dreamwidth invite, I have five to give away! Leave your email here if you're interested.
All sent, thanks! | | Sunday, April 26th, 2009 | | 9:27 pm |
The State of Clank and Chains Visiting: Had a wonderful visit to see cruisedirector this week. We had lunch and then went back to her place to watch the wonderful Slings and Arrows. It was first time viewing for both of us and we only got through 3 episodes but I think we're both hooked. And that Paul Gross guy is kinda cute…why didn't you guys tell me? … :D Fannish News: I succumbed to the lure of the shiny and got a Dreamwidth account. I'm DementorDelta over there too, so come find me if you'd like. No idea what sort of posting I'll be doing, but will be happy to find friends over there. Travel: I'm off tomorrow to see this concert in NYC. Just a short trip but much needed after working our big sale all weekend! | | Friday, April 17th, 2009 | | 8:03 pm |
The Week Thus Far! Fannish News: Snarry-A-Thon has started posting over at snape_potter and it's a blast so far! I never read all the fics in any one fest, mostly because I'm a big wimp I like happy ending stuff, but I've enjoyed several stories in the fest so far. If you have any recs/pimps, feel free to leave them here. I reserve the right to giggle if you rec my own story to me… Gadget News: I got a new phone! A Samsung Alias, with a qwerty keyboard! Anyone who knows how much I text will know how cool this is for me! Oh, and it has a camera and internet access and all that but a qwerty keyboard! ♥ Visiting: As is becoming a delightful habit, despite the fact that we live in different states, I spent a lovely day with cruisedirector and her family at the amazing Delaware du Pont estates Winterthur an American antiques museum/estate and Longwood, just down the road with a conservatory that could have doubled as the Garden Of Eden! Birthdays: Happy Birthday shezan and angela_snape! | | Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 | | 8:25 pm |
| | Monday, April 6th, 2009 | | 7:33 pm |
Happy, Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday accioslash! I can't even imagine Snarry fandom without you! Hope you have a truly wonderful birthday! | | Sunday, April 5th, 2009 | | 11:58 pm |

The Week in Hectic Visiting Spent a lovely day with cruisedirector and her family exploring museums in Delaware & lower Pennsylvania. My favorite was the Edward Gorey exhibit called Elegant Enigmas at the Brandywine River Museum.Internets: Had some (hopefully) minor computer woes this week. Am hoping they don't get any worse. Commission: The amazing swtalmnd completed another commission for me, from my story Dumbledore's Folly. Non-porny but I love the sweetness and trust in the artwork. See for yourself here!Art Point: Not a commission but still smoking hot Snarry art over at tessisamess's journal. Her latest is here.Fests Snarry-a-thon done and submitted! Don't you hate it when you send a fic off then immediately think of a couple more scenes you could have included? Posting starts April 12th I believe--can't wait! Silly Question: I'd love to know what songs, if any, you guys think of as Snarry songs? One I always think of when I hear it is The Bangles' Eternal Flame. Schmoopy I know! Any ideas for others? |
