Likes And Squicks
Have had a nicely busy week, both writing wise and otherwise. Saw a local production of Zanna Don't, a funny musical where everyone is gay, and straight people are regarded as 'outsiders'. Also spent a lovely day Sunday helping

rubyrosered celebrate a significant birthday. Birthdays are always better with friends!

Have been making progress on both my Santa's Lap and Snarry Holidays stories. Speaking of which, I wanted to get my Likes/Squicks post up, mostly as a place to keep track of it myself! But, dear person who has my name--I really just love Snarry and I'm sure I'll love anything you come up with!

Likes, Dislikes, Squicks, and Things I Don't Jones About One Way Or The Other

Slash pairings: Snape/Harry, Snape/Lupin, Snape/Lupin/Harry, Snape/Harry/Draco, Harry/Lupin, Harry/Sirius

Pairing Dislikes: Snape/Neville, Snape/Ron, and Snape/het pairing, Snape/Dumbledore, Harry/Voldemort, Harry/Lucius.

Likes: Playful! Harry, Romance, Humor, tenderness, sensuality, good dialog, interesting use of magic, first times (either Harry or Snape, or first time in a threesome), established relationships, fumbling and/or awkward sex, can't wait to get their clothes off sex, happy endings, watersports, alternate universes or alternate realities, historical AU's, cross-dressing, spanking, role-play, bestiality in Animagus/werewolf form, kissing, rimming, wet sex--baths, beaches, etc, courtship, seduction, redemption, food sex, drunken/magical drugs (not chronic drug use) that leads to revelations, chan (because I love age gap stories) , frottage, marking, love on the run, new twists on old cliches, interesting ways of defining their relationship like de-aging, bonding, potions accidents, sexual discovery/awakening.

Dislikes: Humiliation, Snape being straight, OverlyEmo! Harry, dub-con, non-con, rape, ambiguous/unhappy endings, breathplay, bloodplay, Roman showers, necrophilia, mutilation, violence, hatesex, infidelity, main pairing character death, over the top angst, scat, overly manipulative! Dumbledore, drug use, alcoholism, dark fic, rent boys, prostitution, Slut! Harry or Snape, including the use of such 'endearments' during sex.

General: I like either Top or Bottom Harry, and Top or Bottom Snape. As long as the boys are getting laid, I'm happy!

I'm fairly indifferent to: bdsm, fisting, and non-magical universes, m-preg, Snape as Harry's father, object penetration though like so many other things, a really good author can convince me.

	Nah...That's so totally not my thing! My most favorite pairings have the age gap going on. For some reason though I love Snape/Lupin a lot, but don't really have the urge to write it--unless they're both with Harry! 	Yeah, as much as I like an age gap, this pairing just doesn't do it for me! Though, as always, a good writer, like Rushlight, who featured them several times in her Pendulum series, could make me like it. I didn't know that either, but it DOES make sense. On the other hand, I like my Lucius fiesty and starting out mean, but ending up just a little on the fluffy side. I think that's why I still have such a soft spot for "The Butler Did It"--I really like Lucius/Harry with a bit of humor and romance, and there's a real dearth.

As an aside, now you've made me want to try my hand at Snape/Sirius, and make it playful and funny and hot, just because I've never done it and don't go for it much either. It just reeks of challenge to me...

Hee! I did The Butler Did It (humorous Lucius/Harry, just a bit over 3k) some time ago. I just finished the Snack. I had my doubts, but it was a lot of fun. I actually made myself laugh a couple of times, which is always nice. Now I just have to wait for one last beta to finish with it, and sit on my hands, because I keep adding stuff.

	Eek! I had to look up Roman Showers...and ick. I can handle almost anything, but scat and vomit are just too gross for me. These lists are a good idea. I should make one too if I am going to participate in more of these fests. *shudder* Yeah, I know! I've never even seen a fic with that 'kink' in it, but everyone puts it on their squicks list!

Zanna Don't has played New York--if you've ever watched Queer Eye For the Straight Guy, Jai Rodriguez played Zanna in the original. It's a really cute show and the music and costumes were just fabulous. We have a local theater company here that does lots of gay or gender bending theater and I try to see as many as I can!

	Hmm...well, stuff like having Harry be suicidal because 'omg life is so unfair' or having Harry cut himself or be dissolute and cruel for no good reason. In other words, being completely different from the Harry we know in canon! (Reply to this) (Parent)
