Sorry for the dearth of updates. See previous posts about the state of ass-kicking my job has given me lately. Luckily for me, the lovely cruisedirector doesn't mind sharing moose pops and Paul Gross with me when I get a day off!

Theater:I'm heading north this weekend for a flying visit to a friend in Chicago, and have three shows lined up! \o/ I'll be seeing Beethoven As I Knew Him,
Don't Give Up On Me with Peter Gallagher and The Addams Family! which I've been dying to see but didn't think I'd have time for since I'll only be in town two days!

No Love For Boston?

Anyone in the Boston area interested in a free ticket to the Boston Super Mega Fest? Looks like a lot of cool guests will be there, including James Marsters, Ray Park, Brent Spiner, Lindsay Wagner and more!

I had planned to go but the guest I was going to see isn't going after all so I made other plans. Will mail it to anyone interested absolutely free!

It's that time again! Normally I do a post asking if you guys want one of my cheesy holiday cards, but thanks to the lovely and amazing veridian_dair I actually have pretty cards this year! Don't worry, I'll try to include a cheesy sentiment on the inside!

If you want one, please leave your name (fannish names are fine) and mailing address below. Comments are, of course, screened. Overseas (non-US) is fine too--really!

No return card is necessary but if you want to send me one, email me, or leave your email address here, and I'll send you my street address. I'm at dementordelta at yahoo.com. If you don't feel comfortable leaving your address here you can email it to me as well. If you have a card post that I haven't signed up for, please point me and I'll sign myself right up!

If you have any questions, please email, or ask it in a non-address post since I can't unscreen comments to reply. My address is the same as last year if you still have it.

Free To a Good Home: I have a ticket to the The Boston Super Megafest, November 21 & 22. That Spike guy and Ray Park and a lot of other good fannish guests will be there--I can't go and am happy to mail the ticket to anyone in the Boston area who can use it!

Visiting: Spent a lovely day shopping for Halloween goodies with cruisedirector last week and acquired new bat earrings (really, can you have too many?) many other fun things!

Theater: Saw a local production of Much Ado About Nothing in the brand spanking new Performing Arts Center. We have a good little Shakespeare troupe but I think moving them uptown has priced their tickets out of my range, sadly enough.

Fic: Have finished writing accioslash's story for her much belated Live Long N Marry contribution! *collapses* Now just to get it typed up...*whimper*

Fests: Also signed up to pinch hit for snarry_swap. No idea if I'll get called up but I felt like finishing my commitment to Accio merited some sort of celebration!

Visiting: Have returned from slashretreat_dc and got to hang out with our hostess, venturous, and guests entrenous88, lesyeuxverts, r_grayjoy (and briefly la_dissonance and spidermoth who were dashing out to a costume sale). We got to walk doggies, play with kitties and eat yummy food! Sadly I had to head for home before slashpine arrived.

Fic: Have made some progress on the Cockblocking Fic for accioslash. Hoping to get it done before the end of the month—at least I have an idea of where it's going....*prays*

Visiting: After an aborted attempt to visit the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire last weekend with cruisedirector and her family (we were thwarted by the rain and general likely muckiness of the grounds) we tried again this past weekend and it was a gorgeous, perfect day! And it was Pirates Return Weekend—arrr!

Another hard one! (can you tell I saved the hard ones for last?) Because fics I really want to write, I have ideas for, so here are a few I just have the vaguest notions for but think would be really fun to write...someday.

1.This one I've had pieces of written out nearly since I got into fandom but am not sure I have anything original to say on the subject—anyway, I'd love to do a story where Sirius raises Harry and is...perplexed when Harry goes away to school and becomes friends (at first) with Snape.
2.A smokin' hot threesome with Harry/Snape and Remus. Again, this goes back to my early days in Snarry fandom when Diana Williams was still writing Snarry and she wrote a lot of that threesome that spoiled me into wanting to try it myself.
3.Last year I did holiday cards where Snape ends up running Prince Motorcycle Works and I've sort of wanted to do the backstory I had in my head when I was working on the cards.
4.The Man Who Came To Dinner—as a Snape/Harry story.
5.A (mostly) non-magical AU, set...hmmm....better not say too much about this one since I'm going to write it as soon as I finish Accioslash's Live Long And Marry fic...

1.Will anything ever get any better than "he was on fours on the floor of Snape's office again"? Such a gift, such a gift. And of course the only thing that could improve it would be if Snape saw all those wicked, dirty things Harry was obviously thinking about him and they shagged right there on the floor...
2.Have to include the scene in the Shrieking Shack where Snape, supposedly mortally wounded, gives Harry what he needs to know to fulfill his mission to kill the Dark Lord, which could only be improved by OMG HARRY GET OUT THE DITTANY THAT YOU'VE USED IN EVERY OTHER SCENE AND SAVE SNAPE BEFORE HE'S TOAST! **ahem** Um, of course then hot hurt/comfort sex could ensue...

Visiting: Headed up to the Maryland Renaissance Festival with cruisedirector and her family. The Medival Baebes were singing at the faire. Add fried mac and cheese and cheesecake on a stick and you have basically the perfect day!

Fic Squee, our Snarry Games fic went up today! This year I wrote with the amazing cruisedirector and it’s called In Theory (trust me, that’s the actual title, Pastoral Interlude is a typo on our part!) Go Team Cauldron!

Theater Saw a smashing local production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. I saw it a few years ago when it was on B’way and I don’t think it was any better there than this local one!

Visiting Saw HBP with cruisedirector last week, which interrupted our Due South watching only for a couple of hours! Good thing I’m heading up there again this week to see ~~Fraser/Ray V~~ more of the show.

Retail Therapy My new Harry at Hogwarts Tonner doll arrived this week! I got him at Azkatraz to keep my Snape doll company!

Drabbles Relax, I don’t mean I wrote a drabble! But the lovely reddwarfer was taking prompts for her birthday and wrote some fluff for me! It’s here and it’s just *happy sigh* Yeah, sweet and fluffy.

Thinky Thoughts: bethbethbeth has a great post here about ways to make Snarry more welcoming to newer fans coming into the ship or the fandom. I love her ideas on mentoring and having a comm for newbies to go to.

Conventions: Azkatraz! I had a great time! What? You expected a con report? I survived my panel, though next year I would really, really like someone else to suggest some Snarry panel topics!

Because I was away so long, I gave myself LJ and IJ reading amnesty. If there’s something you think I should see, please link me or point me?

Art The coolest thing about the con, for me, was the drabble/drawble table, not just for the great artists who drew (nearly) any request, but because it was a great place to hang out and talk to people waiting for art. I got artwork from Tripperfunster, Andreanna (who also put artwork into the Snarry meet-up that I snagged), Zephre Jin Fenghuang, Supes (no idea what her lj name is, but she was willing to draw Snarry!) and TBranch. *tips hat to all those artists*

Aaaaaannnnd, I got some lovely stuff from swtalmnd which she very generously scanned so I can show it off, here!

Theater: Saw a local production of Hamlet, which is not my favorite play but worth it because every summer we have a Shakespeare festival at a transplanted Tudor manor.

Convention: Last update before Azkatraz! I think we can all agree that I am the worst con reporter in the world. Will probably tweet more than do any actual con reports—sorry, the lazy, she is a harsh mistress…

Movie: Yeah, I couldn’t wait till the con to see Half-Blood Prince so I have a 9am ticket on Wednesday. I have to dash to work right after but it will be worth it!

Work: Speaking of work, we had a documentary filming in our store this week. Sadly I had never heard of these guys, but it was fun to listen to fans who showed up who had.

Visiting: Am haring off Monday to visit with cruisedirector. We may or may not be watching certain Canadian actors in other projects that are not Slings and Arrows. We’ve finished the initial draft for our Snarry Games story so I daresay we’re feeling a little smug!

Fannish News: I posted fic! *bounces* It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything that wasn’t for a fest/exchange so this was quite nervewracking for me. The Black Asphodel Here at Skyehawke, written for the Live Long N Marry auction. Also here on my journal.

More Fannish News: I can’t believe Half Blood Prince opens next week and I’m leaving for Azkatraz in San Francisco the day after! I’m rooming with rubyrosered, leni_jess and slashpine. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the Snarry meetup (and our panel, the State of the Snarry Ship for anyone who’s awake at that hour!) If anyone needs my cell phone number just let me know. If you’ve ever had it, it’s still the same.

Visiting: Had the first of the summer field trips with my nephew and we went to Natural Bridge and also saw the caverns and the wax museum. If you’ve never seen the Last Supper done in lifesize wax figures with a backdrop of Jesus being crucified, well, you’ve just never lived, have you?

Random Feel Good: This quote: Alan Rickman, Severus Snape in the Potter films, was a big help on Broadway. He cut short a holiday in Connecticut to visit Radcliffe and give him some pointers on stage presentation "that absolutely saw me through the last six weeks of the run" - how to be still, exploiting his "quite short and compact frame". Radcliffe says he used to "struggle" with Rickman: "I never used to know when he was joking or not. I think I took a lot of his sarcasm seriously.
